Frequently Asked Questions

Get an Offer for Your Land

How does the process of selling my land to Sunland America work?

The process is simple and straightforward:

  1. Initial Consultation: Reach out to us, and we’ll review your property to determine its suitability for solar development.
  2. Property Evaluation: Our team will assess factors such as location, size, and solar potential.
  3. Offer Presentation: We’ll provide you with a highly competitive and transparent offer for your land.
  4. Agreement and Closing: Once you accept the offer, we handle all the paperwork, and open the transaction with a local closing company.
  5. Securing Approvals. We’ll get to work on securing the necessary permits and approvals. This can sometimes be a lengthy process that involves public hearings, engineering studies, environmental reports, title search and more. As soon as all approvals are in place, we will close the transaction. By giving us time to secure all the approvals, this provides us the flexibility to offer top of the market value.

From initial consultation to closing, the timeline typically ranges from 6 to 12 months, depending on factors such as permitting, due diligence, and other considerations. We’ll keep you informed every step of the way.

No, Sunland America covers all costs associated with the transaction, including due diligence, permitting, engineering and closing costs. Our goal is to make the process as easy and hassle-free as possible for you.

Not every property will be suitable for a solar farm. We are interested in land that meets the following criteria:

  • At least 20 acres of buildable area or more.
  • Located near existing power infrastructure.
  • Free from major environmental or zoning restrictions. If you’re unsure whether your property qualifies, feel free to reach out, and we’ll be happy to evaluate it for you.

Selling your land for solar development offers several benefits:

  • Receive a top of the market offer price for your property.
  • Contribute to renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
  • Generate positive impacts for your local community through clean energy projects.

Once the transaction is complete, your land will be used for solar farm development. Solar farms are designed with minimal environmental impact and can coexist with certain agricultural activities in some cases.

Each property is unique, and we’ll work with you to evaluate how current uses may affect its suitability for solar development. In some cases, we can work around existing structures or adapt our plans to suit the property.

Getting started is easy! Contact us through our website or give us a call, and we’ll schedule a free consultation to discuss your land’s potential for solar development. Let’s explore the possibilities together.

If the solar farm project does not receive the necessary approvals, Sunland America absorbs all the associated costs and risks. As a landowner, you are not financially responsible for any part of the approval process. If the project does not get approved, we are not able to complete the purchase. However, our team works hard to ensure every project has the best chance of success before proceeding. We only take on projects that we have high confidence in getting approved.
